Maintenance and antifreeze protection of drip irrigation systems

To ensure the normal use of the irrigation system in the next irrigation season, Huawei reminds users to conduct a comprehensive inspection and maintenance of the entire irrigation system (including pumps, power equipment, filtration systems, fertilization systems, field valves, pipeline systems, etc.), and to take necessary anti freezing measures for related equipment.

At the end of each irrigation season

1、 High pressure cleaning of the entire system: Open several valves of the rotary irrigation group (less than the normal number of rotary irrigation valves), turn on the water pump, sequentially open the end plugs and capillary of the main and branch pipes, use high pressure to wash the rotary irrigation plots one by one, and flush out the accumulated dirt in the pipeline. Then replace the plug and bend the capillary to seal it.

2、 Filtering system: After the high-pressure cleaning of the pipeline is completed, thoroughly clean the filter and drain the clean water.

1. Stacked filter: First clean each stack group, then use a dry cloth to wipe the sealing ring inside the plastic shell dry and put it back. Then open the screw plug at one end of the sand collection chamber, discharge the accumulated material in the chamber, and then drain the water completely. Then place the selection button under the filter pressure gauge in the exhaust position.

2. Sand and gravel filter: Open the top cover of the filter tank, check the quantity of sand and gravel filter material, and compare it with the markings on the tank body. If the quantity is insufficient, please make up in time to avoid affecting the filtration quality. If there is suspended material on the sand and gravel filter material, please remove it. At the same time, please add a pack of chlorine balls to each tank, let it stand for 30 minutes, start each tank to backwash twice for 120 seconds, and then open the cover of the filter tank and the drainage valve at the bottom of the tank to drain all the water. Then place the selection button under the filter pressure gauge in the exhaust position. If the metal coating on the surface of the tank or the metal inlet pipeline is damaged, immediately clean the rust and spray again.

3. If your filter is an automatic backwash filter, please thoroughly clean the stack after backwashing (if necessary, use acid washing, such as acetic acid, oxalic acid, etc., rinse with clean water after acid washing) and then put it back.

3、 Fertilization system: During maintenance, turn off the water pump, open the fertilizer injection port connected to the main pipeline, and drive the inlet of the fertilizer injection system to discharge pressure.

1. If your fertilizer applicator is equipped with a fertilizer pump and a plastic fertilizer tank: First, wash the fertilizer tank with clean water, open the tank cover, and let it air dry. Rinse the fertilizer injection pump with clean water, fold it open according to the relevant instructions, remove the drive piston of the fertilizer injection pump, perform normal lubrication and maintenance with lubricating oil, then dry all components and reassemble them.

2. If you are using a fertilizer injection tank, please carefully clean the residual liquid in the tank and let it dry. Then, remove the hose from the tank and wash it with clean water before storing it in the tank. Apply rust proof oil to the threads of the top cover and handle of the fertilizer tank every year. If the metal coating on the surface of the tank is damaged, immediately remove the rust and spray it again. Huawei reminds you not to lose any connecting components.

4、 Field equipment (please note to take protective measures before winter arrives, especially for northern users, to prevent pipeline damage from freezing)

1. Drainage bottom valve: Open the drainage bottom valve (ball valve) located on the main branch pipeline in the field to drain as much water as possible from the pipeline. This valve does not need to be closed in winter. If possible, use an air compressor to enter the field pipeline
